DAVENPORT — Iterim City Administrator David Leath told the City Council on Wednesday, Aug. 26, that a state audit of city records was underway and has centered heavily on airport fuel sales.
The audit began in May.
The assigned auditor missed about a month because of a health issue, Leath said.
Auditors made an on-site visit to the airport fuel tank, which Leath said is unusual in his experience.
They also asked to see the gas can used after daily fuel tests. Staff test the tank each day, put a gallon in a can and use that fuel in shop lawn mowers.
