Eastern Washington residents heading outside Thursday night, Aug. 27, were treated to a deep partial lunar eclipse. The earth's shadow covered 96.2% of the moon's surface, the most intense lunar eclipse for the country until New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) 2028, when there will be a total eclipse. In Eastern Washington, the eclipse took on an orange hue due to wildfires still burning in Okanogan and Ferry counties.
