Lewis appointed to Reardan council

REARDAN — The Town Council appointed Celeste Lewis to fill the vacant Position No. 4 council seat during a special meeting Monday.

Lewis was selected from eight applicants on a 3-1 vote.

Council members Leanne Merkel, Wayne Terry and Dan Graham supported her appointment, while Pat Hogan voted against it.

The seat had been vacant since Councilman Rocky Kidder died in July.

Approximately 15 people attended the meeting at the Fire Department.

The council evaluated the candidates in executive session before returning to open session for the vote.
