Financial picture better than budget
ODESSA — Low swing-bed volume pulled Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center to an operating loss in August, even as cash on hand jumped, the Lincoln County Public Hospital District No. 1 (Odessa) board heard last Thursday, Sept. 24.
Tre Peterson of Wipfli told the board in a digital presentation that unaudited figures through Aug. 31 show an operating loss of $465,514 for the month, against a budgeted loss of $113,888.
Net patient revenue was $660,455, about 34% under the $1,005,131 budget.
There was only 1 certified swing-bed day; 16 were anticipated in the budget.
