Police chief probe findings released

REARDAN - Newly released town records show Police Chief Barbara Werner was fired in a June 25 termination letter with no reason given in writing.

Mayor Kathy Eastman presented Werner the termination letter, records show.

"Effective immediately today, June 25, 2026, your employment with the Town of Reardan has been terminated," the letter signed by Eastman said.

Werner was told to return keys, weapons, gear, phone, computer, police vehicle and credit card by 4 p.m. June 26.
