DAVENPORT - Neither team could score through 80 minutes and two overtimes Tuesday, and Reardan settled it from the spot.
The Screaming Eagles beat the Gorillas 1-0 on penalty kicks after two five-minute overtimes at Hering Field. Eighth-grader Gianna Breedlove and sophomore Haylee Lyle converted in the shootout.
Reardan Coach Richard Breedlove said the Eagles played more together than they had all year, and that the passing finally came together.
"I told them to believe, and they did, and they pulled it out, and I'm just proud of all of them," Breedlove said.
