Odessa man gets 45 days in jail

ODESSA — An local man who pleaded guilty to third-degree assault was sentenced Tuesday, Oct. 19, to 45 days in jail.

Michael Wayne Frederick, 69, appeared before Judge Adam Walser in Lincoln County Superior Court in Davneport for a change of plea and sentencing. The state moved to amend the information to one count of assault in the third degree, and Frederick changed his plea to guilty, according to court documents.

“I’ve got your VA records last night and need you guys to paraphrase it for me,” Walser said during the hearing.
