Eighty years ago, in February 1933, when the Great Depression was still raging, the Washington State Legislature was considering a bill for the consolidation of sparsely populated contiguous counties as a means of cutting costs of government. Donald “Don” D. Tschritter, 70, a lifelong resident of Marlin, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his home. Don was born on June 10, 1942 in Odessa to the late Edward and Lena (Litt) Tschritter. July The Odessa High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America sent 16 students to the national FBLA conference in San Antonio, Texas last summer. The chapter, as a whole, won first place for its Partnership with Business presentation. At the January 14 Odessa Town Council meeting, Mayor Doug Plinski got right to business by reading a letter of resignation from councilman Lynn Schmidt, dated December 31, 2012.
