Members of the Odessa Lions Club have been working every weekend of late to install a new public restroom on the west side of the public works building downtown. The Odessa Lions Club is in the midst of its latest community service project, refurbishment of the public restroom located on the west side of the public works building and across W. First Street from the community center. Club members are volunteering their time to repair water damage, install new flooring and fixtures and paint the interior. At their regularly scheduled monthly meeting February 5, the Old Town Hall Rejuvenation Society (OTHRS) voted to reschedule their annual fundraising yard sale from Spring Fling weekend in April to Saturday, June 27. The group hopes that by moving the event and limiting it to one day, they will draw more shoppers as well as high quality donations, both of which are key to fundraising efforts.
