Grant County Health Officer, Dr. Alexander Brzezny, has declared a gonorrhea outbreak due to the sharp increase this year in the number of gonorrhea cases in Grant County. Public Health nurses are working closely with the Washington State Department of Health and health care providers to increase testing, reporting and treatment for gonorrhea. Keller Ferry drivers will need to find another route to cross the Columbia River this weekend as crews make permanent repairs to the ferry’s steering system. Three people who have had huge and positive impacts on the “greening” of Eastern Washington have been honored by the Washington State Water Resources Association, which represents the state’s 100-plus irrigation districts.
