Can we ride ATVs on county roads in Lincoln County? This seems to be one of the most common questions lately, but the answer is, it depends. In 2013, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1632 that allows ATV use on county roads that are posted 35 miles per hour or less. The Keller Ferry vessel, Sanpoil, was back in service as of 6 a.m. Monday, September 15, after hull seepage repairs were made to a hairline crack that had developed. In the Fest supplement published last week as part of The Odessa Record, Tianna Gies was misidentified due to a reporter error. She is the granddaughter of Ruth Gies. Due to incorrect informationi supplied by the Lincoln County Fair, Marcus King was listed as having the overall grand champion market steer. Harrington Opera House Society The Society’s board meeting was held September 9 with 12 people present. A Pierce County woman in her 30s who recently spent time in Grant County has been confirmed as having West Nile virus. Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has investigated the case and determined that the individual was likely exposed to the infected mosquitoes during her stay in Grant County. The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $1.85 million contract on September 2 to ABB, Inc. in Cary, North Carolina, to perform transformer oil cooler replacements at Grand Coulee Dam. Over the past several years the existing transformer oil coolers have shown the need for replacement. This contract will require furnishing and installing the new transformer oil coolers, as well as disposal of the existing ones. The Keller Ferry across the Columbia River on State Route 21 is out of service until further notice. Water is seeping into one of the Sanpoil’s internal compartments through a hairline crack below the waterline. The Washington State Department of Transportation advised the U.S. Coast Guard of the issue Tuesday, September 9, and the vessel was taken out of passenger service.
