This Week in Odessa History

In May 1951 several activities took place in Marlin, Odessa and Spokane to mark the 50th anniversary of the town.

A series of reunions of current and former residents were held, with the climax being a huge gathering at Manito Park in Spokane.

The Record gave this account of that event in its edition of May 20, 1945:

The Marlin reunion, held during last week, climaxing at a picnic at Spokane on Sunday, brought a large turnout of former residents for an estimated attendance of 250.
