Creative Corner: How I Wish I Had A Magic Wand

If I had a magic wand, I'd wave it for all it’s worth,

To purge all of the hate that plagues this hostile Earth!

In the name of some religion, a war always seems to start!

I'd give my magic wand a wave to vanquish evil from man’s heart!

Then---my magic wand I'd wave, to forever end all war!

There would never be a murder, no one would rob a bank or store!

Yes, I’d wave that precious wand, and all killing I would ban!

For man hath no greater enemy, than man's---inhumanity---to man!

I would banish pangs of hunger; there would always be a meal.

The naked would have raiment, the sick I’d surely heal.

Everyone would have a warm bed; pain and agony would cease.

My wand would dry all tears; the world would surely be at peace!

There would never be another slave, bound in heavy iron chains!

The crippled, they would dance, with their crutches and their canes!

The blind would surely see, and the paralyzed would walk.

The deaf, somehow would hear, the dumb, fluently talk!

All prisoners would be loosed, from the dungeon's filthy hole.

There would be liberty for all; The Freedom Bell would always toll!

Mr. Satan, the devil man, no way could he ever---lurk!

I'd wave him in the lake of fire, to forever put him out of work!

Yes, I'd really wave that wand; nobody would cruel!

I'd prohibit death and sorrow; we'd all live by---The Golden Rule!

I would eradicate diseases; the addicts, I would cure!

I'd clean the dirty air we breathe; all waters would be pure!

Everyone would have a job; there would be no unemployed!

The illiterate would read and write All debts I'd surely---void!

The hard-working, lowly laborer would be paid a decent wage!

There would never be an animal confined to any---cage!

The parched ground, it would flourish; a bumper crop it’d yield!

The reaper couldn’t keep up with the sower in the field!

Grain bins would overflow; there would be eggs, rich milk and cream!

Though I’ve really not a magic wand, let me die when I can’t---dream!
