Frederick family together has 140 years of military service

When the Frederick family gathered recently for the funeral of their wife, mother, grandmother Vi Frederick, and again soon after for the Memorial Day holiday, they began comparing notes about how long various members had served in the U.S. military. It turns out to have been a considerable sum, 140 years in fact.

Father Wayne spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy before retiring. Son Mike served 25 years in the Navy before retiring and coming home to open Chiefs Bar & Grill in Odessa with his wife Sherri, who served 18 years in the Navy.
