John James Erber

John Erber died January 18, 2012 in Marlin at the age of 61.

He was born March 14, 1950 in Minot, ND to Arnold and Jane (Whitson) Erber. He attended Lynch Immanuel parochial school and Glenburn High School.

After employment in the agriculture industry, he moved west and later found work in Eastern Washington. For over 20 years he was employed as a cattle ranch manager on Peterson Ranch and helped build stock trailers for Steve Cannon. He was a member of Cannawai Grange and Salem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Gwen (Paul) Butler and children, Kiernan, Keefe, and Delaney of Kent, WA; Ranae Laske and son, Adam Knight of Auburn, WA; Kimberly (Art) Nelson and children Porter and Hannah of Mountain Home, ID and Amanda (Loren) Scammahorn and children Madison and Chance of East Wenatchee and his son Keith Erber of Marlin; his parents, Arnold and Jane Erber of Glenburn, ND; his brothers Darrel (Joyce) Erber of Cheyenne, WY and Dennis (Karen) Erber of Glenburn; sisters: Katherine (Roger) Krienke of Lester Prairie, MN and Carol Matthews of Centerview, MO as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Salem Lutheran Church in Marlin, with Pastor William Goodin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Spokane Union Gospel Mission, Salem Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
