Family and friends on hand as Goetz turns 104 at OMHC

On Saturday, November 16, friends and family gathered for a home-cooked dinner in the Atrium at the Odessa Healthcare Center to celebrate the 104th birthday of long-time area resident Alvin Goetz. He enjoyed visiting with many of his family members, including his son and daughter-in-law from Marlin, Les and Carolyn Goetz, and daughter Martha Selander and her husband Dick, who traveled to Odessa from Seattle. “Grandad,” as he is affectionally known by his grandchildren, also enjoyed time with granddaughter Gail and her husband Mike (from Snohomish), grandson Kevin and his wife Jennifer and Al’s great-greatchildren, Kameron, Jared and Luke (from Coulee City). Alvin’s “adopted” granddaughter Ye-Ting Woo, and Marcel, also traveled from Seattle to wish Alvin a very happy 104th birthday. There were also several visits throughout the day from local friends. As the evening was winding down, with a smile and twinkle in his eye, Alvin thanked everyone for a very special birthday and said how lucky he was to have wonderful friends and family to spend the day with.
