Odessa's FBLA chapter has been working with Chris Shafer, BLM Range Land Management Specialist, to improve the 1.5-mile Odessa Craters Loop Trail five miles north of Odessa on Highway 21.
Improvements made by Odessa FBLA members and the BLM's Chris Shafer include removing vegetation to widen the trail, removing rocks, smoothing out the ground to improve the trail tread and installing new markers and signs to make it easier to navigate. When the project is completed in the spring, the group will host a community trail hike so everyone can see the uniqueness of the craters and get some exercise.
