Pomeroy pulls away from Tigers

POMEROY — Pomeroy beat Odessa 44-8 on Friday, Sept. 11, scoring in every quarter while the Tigers were held scoreless until the fourth.

Coach Kolby Schafer said the game got away in the second quarter. Pomeroy’s size and ability to run the ball were too much.

Pomeroy led 12-0 after one quarter and 32-0 at half, then added 6 in the third and 6 in the fourth. Odessa scored 8 in the fourth.

Freshman Gavin Scrupps ran for 76 yards and the Tigers’ touchdown. Junior Kolter Watson threw for 66 yards with one interception and led the defense with 10.5 tackles. Sophomore Hudson Walter had 27 receiving...
