Heimbigner earns doctorate

Natasha Heimbigner, PharmD, graduated on May 8, 2014, from Washington State University College of Pharmacy. Prior to pharmacy school, she attended Washington State University and received Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and General Medical Sciences. She is a 2006 graduate of Odessa High School and is the daughter of Scott and Sherie Heimbigner.

At WSU, Heimbigner completed rotations in acute, institutional, ambulatory care, community pharmacy, and international medical care. Many may remember her as she spent six weeks at Odessa Drug for one of her community pharmacy rotations. She is certified in federal emergency management, emergency contraception, tobacco cessation, radiation safety, immunization administration, advanced cardiovascular life support and pediatric advanced life support.

Throughout all four years of pharmacy school, Natasha worked full time and has been an active member and leader on many committees/events, in many organizations. She is a member of Washington State Pharmacists Association, Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, Spokane Pharmacist Association, National Community Pharmacists Association, and Cougar Health Awareness Team. She served as the class of 2014's student representative on the WSU College of Pharmacy curriculum committee for two years.

During school, she was also active in community service providing blood pressure, cholesterol, and osteoporosis screening as well as immunizations. She has participated in multiple mission trips; traveling to Africa to build roads and to Ecuador providing medical services. In June, Natasha will be traveling back to Ecuador for a second medical mission.

Heimbigner will be working for Rite Aid in the Spokane Valley.
