Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

Signing up might save your life

Signing up for the Lincoln County emergency alert system might save your life or the lives of those you care about, says Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers. In today’s world of cell phones, text messages, tablets and pads we are bombarded with hundreds of messages every day. Yet taking just two minutes to sign up for the Lincoln County AlertSense emergency alerts may get you the most important messages of your life – or of those you care about.

Lincoln County has contracted with AlertSense to provide a free service that alerts subscribers in the event of different types of emergencies. All it takes is two minutes to sign up on the website. The county has had this service for some time, Magers said, however it is promoted occasionally in an attempt to gain more users of this important system.

When there is an emergency that may affect county citizens or those they care about, Lincoln County emergency managers send a message over the AlertSense system. Once the subscriber gets the message, he/she just follows the instructions given.

Subscribers can select the type of emergencies they wish to be notified about. Once signed up, subscribers will know that any messages from Lincoln County or AlertSense are important and may directly affect them.

This is a free service, and it is possible to unsubscribe at any time. Please take just two minutes and sign up today.

For questions about the Lincoln County AlertSense message system, contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 725-3501 or 725-9263.

The Sheriff’s Office has provided this service for several years, also known as “My State USA.” However a recent name change to AlertSense has prompted us to reach out to the community to encourage citizens to take advantage of the alert system.
