Monday, Aug. 25: Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a man on the ground next to a van at Main and Alder yelling for help.

Tuesday, Aug. 26: A collision involving a car and a piece of farm equipment took place near Govan and Quirk roads.

Two men appeared to be consuming beer while sitting on a bench across from Davenport City Hall. A similar report was received from the area between A1 Storage and the vacated bowling alley.

Riding an all-terrain vehicle, a man was observed speeding through construction areas on Mill Canyon Road.

Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 17-year-old girl who may have suffered a seizure in the 600 block of Maxwell Street.

A boy reported his cell phone stolen while at the Davenport Water Park pool.

Odessa Police investigated a report of harassment of a local woman.

Reardan Police responded to a report of an "aggressive" boy who was breaking things inside a residence in the 100 block of South Birch.

Wednesday, Aug. 27: A broken crossing arm was reported at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad crossing at F Street in Sprague.

Two men were reported sleeping on the porch of the Black Bear Motel in east Davenport.

Davenport firefighters and Avista personnel were advised of a gas odor inside the Inland Power and Light Co. building in the 1100 block of Morgan Street.

Deputies were advised of an older man with a long beard sitting in a pickup truck at Sixth and Park streets, apparently watching girls walk to school.

A Mondovi Road resident reported his house had been broken into. A blonde-haired male is a possible suspect.

Thursday, Aug. 28: An unrestrained, mean looking dog was reported in the vicinity of Main and Eighth streets in Davenport.

A Davenport man reported the theft of a firearm from a residence on McLain Road East.

A caller expressed concern about three dogs being allowed to run loose in the 800 block of Washington Street in Davenport.

A Hawk Creek area caller advised deputies of a vehicle with appliances that had backed up to a house.

An Edwall caller reported a bent front door lock on a residence on Sobek Road East.

Deputies investigated a possible sexual offense in the Davenport area.

Six plants were removed from an otherwise legal medical marijuana grow about a half-mile south of Wilbur.

Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 90-year-old woman with possible heart trouble in the 1100 block of Third Street.

Responding to a report of the assault of a man in the 200 block of West 5th in Sprague, a deputy was advised by the reporting party that the issue had been settled in a civil manner.

A boy's bicycle was reported stolen in the 700 block of Eleventh Street in Davenport.

Lincoln Hospital personnel treated a three-month-old child with blood in the urine.

Three men were observed prowling vehicles in the vicinity of Tenth and Main streets in Davenport.

Odessa Police responded to the report of a dog bite to a 35-year-old man in the 200 block of South Division Street.

Odessa Police investigated a narcotics-related incident within the municipal limits.

Friday, Aug. 29: Emergency medical personnel from Davenport, Reardan and Edwall responded to a 53-year-old woman with a possible allergic reaction at the intersection of U.S. 2 and SR 231. Later, Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 50-year-old man with possible heat stroke at Two Rivers Casino.

Two men at the Cowboy Café in Davenport got into a heated discussion about a horse that required others to separate them from each other. There was no physical violence reported.

A Davenport woman traveling on SR 25 reported that gravel from a loose load fell from a truck onto her windshield, damaging it.

Deputies assisted mental health authorities with a 28-year-old woman in the Grand Coulee area who had made threats against her own life after losing custody of a child.

K&L Chevron personnel expressed concern about a man who stayed by his car in the Sprague convenience store's parking lot while photographing employees and customers.

A Davenport man requested assistance with his 27-year-old son who was referred to mental health personnel.

Wilbur Police investigated the discovery of bullet holes at a house in the 700 block of SE Spokane Street. Persons were observed shooting quail in the area earlier that day.

Saturday, Aug. 30: A Wilbur woman reported tapping on a window of a residence on Columbia View Road East.

Several individuals were seen sitting in a circle and smoking in a field off Snider Road east of Kallenberger Road.

A Mill Canyon resident reported getting harassed continuously by a woman.

Deputies looked into reports of horses that were thin with ribs showing on property on Lowe Road East in the Lamona area.

A Reardan man reported that he found another bag of dog poop in his yard in the 300 block of North Cedar.

Sunday, Aug. 31: A report indicating a boat had capsized on the north end of Sprague Lake turned out to be someone taking a nap in a canoe.

Kathy's Market in Sprague reported the theft of alcohol.

Criminal Sentencings

Vern Leroy Eggerud, Jr., 52, of Lincoln, entered an Alford plea on July 29 to third-degree assault (amended through plea negotiations from first-degree burglary and three counts of first-degree assault). His disposition includes 12 months community supervision, 90 days jail (credit for time served), mental health counseling and continued medications, no firearms, $800 court costs plus attorney fees, and restitution to be determined. The charge involves the Nov. 6, 2013, assault of a Creston man. He also was originally charged with exposing two deputies to HIV.

James E. Tubbs, 18, Ritzville, pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to two counts of third-degree theft (amended in plea negotiations from six counts of second-degree theft and one count of third-degree theft). His sentence includes 10 days jail (credited as served), along with $700 court costs plus attorney fees. The charges involve the taking of cash from an Edwall woman on July 13. The original charges also involved the theft of several credit cards.

Patricia Alice Swiger, 47, Spokane, pleaded guilty Aug. 26 to two counts of forgery (amended through plea negotiations from 16 counts) in connection with fraudulent checks issued throughout 2013. Her sentence includes 60 days jail (credited as served), $27,250 restitution to a Davenport man, $800 court costs plus attorney fees, and a prohibition against possessing firearms.

Lee Jackson Crider, 34, Hunters, pleaded guilty Aug. 19 to riot while armed and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), amended through plea negotiations from second- and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). His sentence includes 90 days jail (credited as served), restitution to be determined, $800 court costs plus attorney fees, 12 months probation, no alcohol possession or use, and a no-contact order protecting two victims. The charges involve a May 17 incident during which a 25-year-old woman was thrown to the ground from steps on a deck at a Welch Creek Road residence. She suffered a fractured nose and finger. A fistfight involving the defendant and a 28-year-old man also occurred that day.

Civil Judgements

Jordan Buck, of Davenport, must return a $225.15 overpayment to the Washington State Employment Security Department.

Clifford E. Anderson, of Davenport, must return a $700.96 overpayment to the Washington State Employment Security Department.

Petitioner John Buchanan, of East Wenatchee, filed an abstract of a Feb. 2, 2012, Douglas County Superior Court judgment, awarding him $2,977.59 from respondent Justin Avey.

New Criminal Cases

Donald James Bodeau, 47, Wilbur, is charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and second-degree possession of stolen property in connection with a July 31 incident during which about $500 worth of items, including water skis and a boat motor, were taken from a shop building on Jurgensen Road East near Wilbur.

Jessica Lynette Garza, 28, Spokane, is charged with residential burglary in connection with an Aug. 3 incident at a Hawk Creek Ranch Road residence, which was described by deputies as having been ransacked.

David Earl Platz, 50, Wenatchee, is charged with possession of heroin in connection with an incident at the Lincoln County Jail on April 4.
