Tribute; Lloyd V. Tebow

Lloyd V. Tebow passed away December 2, 2014, at his home in Odessa at the age of 94.

He was born March 15, 1920 in Lamont, Okla. to Karl and Edith Tebow. He graduated from high school and joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. Lloyd married Marjorie Groh on November 16, 1952 in Odessa.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie; five children, Douglas (Joanne) Tebow, Sheryl (Donald) Dirks, Janell (Toby) Lobe, Diane (Alan) Voise and Barb (Jeff) Greenwalt; his 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Nick and Danielle Tebow, Ashley (Kyle) Vinneau, Adam (Sara) Dirks, Lindsey (Brian) Haguewood, Trey Lobe, Kodey Lobe, Heath Voise, Mahki (Eddy) Carroll, Brooke (Kyler) Lovgren, Colby and Tyler Greenwalt; six great-grandchildren, Shaye Dirks, Makinley and Haysley Haguewood, Lincoln and Kylie Lovgren and Taryen Carroll; his two brothers, Dwaine Tebow and Rex Tebow, and his sister, Lois Parks, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Blaine Parks and sister-in-law Chelora Tebow.

He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa, the Odessa VFW and a former Odessa town council member. He was the owner of the Chevron Service Station from 1965-1967, fertilizer manager for the Odessa Grange Supply Co. from 1967-1969, shop foreman/mechanic for the Odessa Grange Supply Co. from 1969-1977, tractor and combine mechanic for the Odessa Trading Company from 1977-1985 and a wheat farmer from 1975-1995.

In his retirement, Lloyd was an avid Bloomsday walker. He was also the recipient of a Veterans Honor Flight in September of 2011.

A rosary service will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa. A Funeral Mass, will be said Thursday, December 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Kenneth St. Hilaire officiating. Interment will be at the Odessa Cemetery.
