School academic awards

This is the second and final installment of the results of the second annual all-school academic assembly held January 29 in the school multipurpose room.

8th: Outstanding Math Award, Mya Boss; Outstanding Effort in Algebra Award, Ireland Luiten.

High school: Outstanding Effort in Geometry Award, Tori Weishaar; Outstanding Effort in Algebra II Award, Hannah Scheldon; Outstanding Effort in Pre-Calculus Award, Elizabeth Larson; Outstanding Effort in Calculus Award, Stacia Lesser.

Alexis Schmierer handed out the Outstanding Effort and Positive Attitude PE Awards:

Kindergarten, Crystal DeVore; first grade, Leah Beth Claassen and Austin Goetz; second grade, Ashley Zagelow and Troy Hardung; third grade, Sean Widger and Kenzy Kuchenbuch; fourth grade, Jacob Scrupps and Melloney Deife; fifth grade, Gage Starkel; sixth grade, Drew Hardung and Charliegh Cornett; seventh grade, Rachel Anderson and Pilot Weishaar; eighth grade, Kenadie Elder and Jakob Starkel; high school, Aaron Gies.

Vocational Awards

For Agriculture, the Excellence in Agricultural Leadership Award went to Alexis Schmierer. The Excellence in Horticulture award went to Hannah Sheldon. The Excellence in 8th Grade Intro to Agriculture award went to Ireland Luiten. The Excellence in 9th Grade Intro to Agriculture award went to Jordan Larmer. Excellence in Ag Mech I was awarded to Wyatt Haase. Excellence in Ag Mech II was awarded to Hunter Bramer. Excellence in Landscape Design was awarded to Danielle Tebow.

Business

The Community Service Award went to Paige Smith. Fastest Typist Award went to Morgan Costello. Microsoft Office Specialist Awards went to Tori Weishaar, Brenna Carstensen, Destiny German, Kassidy Crossley, Arianna German, Megan Shafer, Theron Schlomer, Rochelle Schuh, Daniel Nelson, Jordan Larmer and Evan Gonzales.

Specialty Awards

Super Speller Awards were given to fourth-grader Dakota Steward, third-grader Holden Iverson, second-grader Marley Woodward and first-graders Hadyn Reynolds, Leah Iverson, Leah Beth Claassen, Katie Mae Shelton, Jordyn Lewis, Izaak Schmierer and Emmanuel Zaragoza.

The Kindergarten Giving it Your Best Award went to Mallory DeVore.

The Awesome Attitude and Friendliness Awards went to Blake Zigan, Ashley Zagelow, Dominic Blanchard, Aubrey Durbin, Caleb Hahne, Myakoda Meise and Oceanna Pulatie.

Helpful Student Awards went to Ella Schlomer, Kendyll Rosman, Morgan Lewis, Sawyer Walter and Max Peterson.

Other elementary awards were Rebecca Bramer for Great Musical Talents, John Melcher for Bringing Healthy Snacks, Aiden Schmierer for Always Being Ready to Go, Carter Zigan for Best Handwriting and DJ Chavers for Consistently Turning in All Homework Assignments.

Principal Nelson handed out 15 award certificates for first-grade students who always turned homework in on time.
