Baseball opener a doubleheader sweep

The opening weekend for baseball was a good one for the Titans when they completed a doubleheader sweep against the Northport Mus-

tangs Saturday, March 26.

In the first game of the series, the Titans had eight runs by the end of the second inning and added eight more in the fourth, making the score 16-0 and effectively winning the game in four innings. According to WIAA rules, the games ends when the losing team is behind 10 or more runs and has had at least five turns at bat.

Chance Messer had a two-run double and Jayd Jennings an RBI single. Brad Johnston had an RBI single in the first.

The pitcher Colton Hunt allowed only one hit and had 12 strikeouts for Odessa-Harrington, stunning Northport.

The Titans won game two in the series with a final score of 12-5. The Titans tal- lied five runs in the second inning and finished the game

with another four runs in the seventh taking advantage of several walks and errors.

Colton Hunt collected six RBIs on three hits for the Titans. Brad Johnston had an RBI single. Jaden Hunt singled in the seventh, bringing in Camden Weber.

Chance Messer struck out seven Northport batters and allowed one run, three hits and one walk over the period of four innings.
