Odessa Knowledge Bowl team is sixth

Public, parochial and private schools from all over the state of Washington sent 102 teams comprising more than 600 students to a day of academic competition at Arlington High School in Arlington, Wash. on March 19. Eastern Washington's Bi-County area acquitted itself well at this state Knowledge Bowl, taking three of the top six places.

Odessa High School's team of Johnathon Brightwell, Elizabeth Larson, Cole Kissler, Molly Schafer, Kiegan Wehr and Stacia Lesser brought home the sixth-place plaque.

Neighboring Wilbur High School took first place among the 1B schools. Pope John Paul II High School, located in Lacey, took second place, while Riverside Christian School of Yakima was third. Odessa's BiCounty rival Almira/Coulee-Hartline took the fourth-place plaque, and West Sound Academy of Poulsbo was fifth.
