It was a busy week for the Titan track team as they competed in the Riverside Twilight meet and the NE 1B District meet.

The Riverside meet in Chattaroy May 6 hosted 20 different schools from as far away as Stillwater Christian in Kalispell, Mont.

The boys competed against 15 teams and took 12th place overall with Deer Park, Rogers and Riverside in the top three spots. Individually, the team of Cole Kissler, Aaron Gies, Colby Sooy and Gaven Elder placed 6th in the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 49.17. Elder also took 4th place in the 100 meters with 11.84, 9th in the 200 meters with 24.30 and 10th in the long jump with a distance of 16-07.00. Kissler placed 10th in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:59.28 and 16th in pole vault with 9-00.00.

In the 110-meter hurdles Gies was 9th with 18.97, 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles with 43.35 and 20th in javelin with 108-08. Sooy took 17th in shot put with 34-10.50, 19th in javelin with 109-01 and 5th in discus with 118-04. Sage Elder was 13th in the 100 meters with 12.15, 14th in the 200 meters with 25.07 and 3rd in the long jump with a score of 18-11.50. Colton Melgren was 23rd in the 800 meters with 2:46.78, 31st in the 1600 meters with 6:03.08 and 26th in discus with 66-08. John DeWulf was 25th in shot put with 32-09.05, 4th in pole vault with 11-06.00 and 3rd in javelin with 153-03.

The girls took 10th place competing against 17 other teams. Individually, Amber Smith placed 15th in the triple jump with 26-07.25. Lanessa Simon took 4th in the 200 meters with 27.97, 4th in the 400 meters with 1:06.04 and 2nd in pole vault with 9-00.00. Destiny German placed 28th in shot put with 22-00.00, 28th in discus with 57-10 and 21st in javelin with 55-07. Sarina Goetz was 29th in shot put with 21-02.50, 33rd in discus with 52-03 and 19th in javelin with 59-03. Casey Schlomer was 5th is discus with 95-09, 2nd in javelin with 105-02 and 14th in pole vault with 6-06.00.

1B District 7 champions

On May 10 in Davenport, the Titan boys claimed first place, competing against 14 other schools and cinching the 1B District title. Valley Christian and Selkirk tied for second place.

The girls took 6th place competing against 15 other schools. The first three places went to Oakesdale, Cusick and Valley Christian.

In individual events for the girls, German took 18th in shot put with 22-02.75, 13th in discus with 68-04 and 28th in javelin with 45-00. Goetz placed 13th in javelin with 70-01, 17th in discus with 63-03 and 19th in shot put with 20-00.50. Schlomer took 3rd in pole vault with 6-06.00, 2nd in javelin with 105-01 and 4th in discus with 94-07. Simon placed 3rd in the 200 meters with 27.62, 2nd in long jump with 16-01.75, 1st in triple jump with 33-05.00 and 1st in pole vault with 8-00.00.

Individually for the boys, the team of Kissler, Gies, S. Elder and G. Elder took 1st place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.63. Gies also was 1st in the 110m hurdles with 15.56, 8th in javelin with 130-00 and 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with 41.09. Kissler was 3rd in pole vault at 8-06.00, 12th in javelin with 114-04 and 4th in the 1600 meters with 5:06.70. G. Elder was 1st in the 100 meters with 11.16, 1st in the 200 meters with 23.97 and 7th in the long jump with 17-07.25. S. Elder was 12th in the 100 meters, 4th in the 200 meters with 25.18 and 5th in the long jump with 18-04.75. Sooy took 8th in the 100 meters with 12.24, 3rd in shot put with 37-07.75, 3rd in discus with 119-01 and 17th in javelin with 94-07. Melgren was 11th in the 1600 meters with 5:47.20, 19th in javelin with 86-03 and 22nd in discus with 63-03. DeWulf placed 4th in javelin with 143-09 and 1st in pole vault with 11-06.00.

Next for the Titan teams is 1B District 7/9 Regional meet at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley beginning Friday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. and Saturday, May 21, at noon.
