FBLA chapter helps Pateros rebuild

Last Friday in Pateros, the O-H cheerleaders (center front) Ireland Luiten, Elizabeth Larson, Destiny German and Rebecca Fortner, as well as Odessa FBLA advisor Terri King (second from left in back row), joined members of the Pateros community at one of 18 new homes already constructed in the town following the Carlton Complex Fire.

The Odessa High School FBLA chapter was one of six winners of the national Lead2Feed Challenge last May. We were able to select a charity of our choice to donate $25,000. With guidance from Okanogan County Commissioner Sheilah Kennedy, our chapter chose to donate $12,500 to the Long-term Recovery Group in Okanogan County and $12,500 to the Odessa Fire Department. Thanks to the efforts of Commissioner Kennedy, several FBLA members had the privilege of attending the dedication ceremony and touring one of the 18 homes that have been rebuilt following the Carlton Complex Fire.
