Monday, Oct. 31: A vehicle hit an oil slick on Old Coulee Road and went off the roadway.

After a caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked along Valley Road about a mile from Rocklyn Road, a responding deputy contacted the driver, a local man, who said he comes to that location in order to get Internet service.

Tuesday, Nov. 1: Multiple callers reported a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Interstate 90 between the Fishtrap and Tyler exits.

Sprague ambulance personnel transported a man from the city park to a Spokane hospital after he reportedly took some pills.

Fertilizer, grass seed, two weed-eaters and other tools appeared to be missing after an Oct. 23-24 break-in at the Almira cemetery.

A deputy assisted Lincoln Hospital personnel in getting a patient to return to his room after refusing to leave the lobby.

A cashier at Trader’s Express in Davenport became a short-change artist’s victim.

Odessa Police investigated a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of SRs 21 and 28.

Wednesday, Nov. 2: An Odessa man told dispatchers that after making a money transfer to purchase a motorcycle from a West Virginia resident with whom he made an agreement over the Internet, he was unable to reconnect with him.

Davenport ambulance personnel transported a woman to Lincoln Hospital after she fell and hit her head in the 1200 block of Seventh Street.

Lincoln Hospital personnel requested assistance after a patient walked away from their care, dressed only in a hospital gown and without shoes. She was believed to have been heading in the direction of her residence. Her situation was referred to local mental health personnel.

Thursday, Nov. 3: A Reardan woman reported receiving a scam phone call from someone who, while pretending to be an acquaintance, asked her to send money.

Multiple reports of a swerving motor home on Interstate 90 were referred to the Washington State Patrol.

One vehicle T-boned another and hit a telephone pole at the intersection of Eighth and Monroe streets in Davenport.

A 56-year-old man was killed when the 4-wheeler he was operating rolled in an alfalfa field adjacent to Rimrock Road near Odessa, ejecting him.

Someone cut a few locks off storage units adjacent to SR 174 near the Lincoln County line.

Initiating what law enforcement believe was an attempted robbery, a man wearing a mask and gloves “bounced off” the secured door to the Creston branch of Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union then escaped with another man in a pickup truck. A pursuit ensued on several county roads in the area, concluding with one man’s apprehension after a foot chase near the lodge at Hawk Creek Estates. At one point, the suspect vehicle rammed a patrol vehicle with two deputies inside; no one was hurt, but extensive damage occurred to the passenger side of the police car. A second suspect, who was left behind by the driver during the pursuit, was taken into custody the following day after deputies encountered him walking along Hawk Creek Road after spending the night inside an outhouse. A resident in the area allowed the suspect to use the phone to ask his mother to come pick him up at Miles Creston Road, but deputies got to him first.

Friday, Nov. 4: A Wilbur woman told dispatchers that while following her children to school, the family dog was run over by a pickup truck that left the scene in the 600 block of NW Cole. The dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment of injuries.

Deputies responded to a report of a possible domestic assault at a South 6th Street residence in Almira.

Fuel was completely trained from a Wheatland Tree Service truck parked on North 5th Street in Almira.

Saturday, Nov. 5: While traveling U.S. 2 near Davenport, a caller reported another driver had been “antagonizing” him by tailgating, passing, slowing down, tapping brakes, turning on four-way flashers and speeding up when the caller tried to pass.

A Rocklyn area caller reported receiving threatening calls and voice mail messages.

A deputy returned a man to Lincoln Hospital after he left on foot.

LifeFlight aerial ambulance was dispatched to Edwall to assist a man hurt when the motorcycle he was operating crashed a couple of miles south of the village on SR 231.

A caller expressed concern about people target shooting near a residence on Sterling Valley Road.

Responding to the 600 block of Lincoln Street, a deputy obliged a Davenport father who wanted someone to come speak to his two 10-year-old boys about fighting each other.

A man and woman were arrested on domestic violence charges after deputies responded to a residence in the 0 block of Ross Street in Davenport.

Sunday, Nov. 6: A man told dispatchers he wasn’t hurt after the vehicle he was driving swerved to miss a deer and left Hart Road north of Davenport.

A Davenport caller reported someone had dumped a container of used syringes on property adjacent to Ray’s Place North.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to a juvenile facility after deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault involving family members in the 100 block of Washington Street in Davenport.

Oct. 29: Michael Kevin Hurlburt, 51, Lincoln, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and driving while license suspended.

Oct. 30: Gage R. VanCleave, 21, Lakewood, Colo., arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.

Nov. 1: Timothy Gow, 18, Auburn, Wash., arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence and hit-and-run.

Criminal Sentencing

Cheryl Lynn Brown, 48, Spokane, pleaded guilty Nov. 1 to conspiracy to use proceeds from criminal profiteering (amended through plea negotiations from second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and first-degree malicious mischief). Her sentence requires payment of $800 court costs and that she possess no firearms. The court waived restitution and attorney reimbursement. The charges involved the theft of more than $5,000 worth of copper wire between March 1 and May 8 of last year from property adjacent to Macabee Road near Sprague on which is located an American Tower Corp. cell tower.

Civil Judgment

The court granted a request from Douglas Linley Kendall, of Pierce County, for a name change to Douglas Coykendall.

New Criminal Cases

Richard Dean Manley, 58, Coulee Dam, and James Edward Goodlake, 23, Wilbur, are both charged with second-degree burglary, possessing a stolen firearm and making or having burglary tools in connection with an Oct. 27 break-in at the Wilbur cemetery.

Jeremy Lacy Waters, 40, Creston, is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and first-degree malicious mischief, and Todd Edwin Miller, 44, Spokane, is charged with first-degree attempted robbery in connection with a Nov. 3 incident at the Creston branch of Coulee Dam Credit Union and a subsequent pursuit by deputies that included the ramming of a patrol vehicle with two deputies inside by the suspect vehicle. Both are being held in the county jail on $75,000 bail.
