Quilt shop owners Lise Ott and JoEllen Wollman display one of the quilts they made and then donated to a service member at last Saturday's Veterans Day dinner held for the community at Heritage Church.
Veterans Day was celebrated this past Saturday with a dinner and awards ceremony held in the social hall of Heritage Church. Organized by the local members of VFW Post #7395 and American Legion Post #105, the main dishes of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy were prepared by four Odessa sisters: Pam Williams, Carol Bell, Debbie Walter and Jean Starkel. Side dishes and desserts were provided potluck style by members of the general public. Approximately 80 place settings were arranged, and nearly all of them were filled before the evening was over.
