Spokane Ag Expo/Pacific NW Farm Forum

Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum are getting ready to open their doors for their 2018 show scheduled for February 6-8, 2018 at the Spokane Convention Center. The largest farm machinery show in the Inland Northwest will host almost 300 exhibitors and conduct 35 educational seminars and forums relating to agri-business from large-scale operations to small acreage farms and ranches. Every foot of the 120,000 square foot exhibit hall will be ready to welcome over 5,000 visitors.

This year’s Pacific Northwest Farm Forum seminars are scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 12 – 4 p.m. and Wednesday, February 7, from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. For a complete time and topic schedule of the 35 seminars, visit the website at http://www.agshow.org and click on ‘attendee information.’

The opening session of The Pacific Northwest Farm Forum on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., in the Convention Center’s Centennial Ballroom again hosts Dr. Art Douglas, retired Professor Emeritus, Atmospheric Science Department, Creighton University, presenting his “2018 Forecast for Weather Conditions in the Pacific Northwest” and “The Impact of Climate Change.” Also at the opening session, the annual winners of the AgriBusiness Council’s ‘Excellence in Agriculture Awards’ will be announced.

Each year winners in three categories, Youth/Individual/Organization, Adult/Business/Organization and the Legacy Award are chosen from nominations received by the AgriBusiness Council of GreaterSpokane Incorporated last fall.

On Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. in the Convention Center’s Centennial Ballroom, the program features Mike Kruger, president of The Money Farm, a full-service commodity consulting firm from Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. Krueger will share his thoughts on an “Agriculture Economic Forecast for 2018.”

On Thursday morning at 9 a.m., regional FFA students and advisors will meet and listen to motivational speaker Amberley Snyder, who turned tragedy into living life to its fullest each day after a tragic car accident left her paralyzed from the waist down. Also Thursday morning beginning at 9 a.m., Washington state’s 5th District Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers will host A Conversation with Cathy: The Future of Agriculture in Seminar Room 402-A off the main exhibit floor.

Pacific Northwest Farm Forum is also offering 35 educational seminars scheduled to include topics relating to cattle, marketing crops and livestock, small farm planning and marketing, tax and estate planning and several pesticide recertification courses. Free parking is available at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena parking lot with free, round-trip shuttle bus service to and from the Spokane Convention Center. Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum are open to the public on Tuesday, February 6, and Wednesday, February 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Thursday, February 8, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students aged 12-18 and free for children under 12. Discounted tickets can be purchased at North 40 Outfitters stores in Washington and Idaho now through the show. Tickets are good for all three days of the show.
