Tribute: Dorothy M. Schorzman

Dorothy M. Schorzman of Odessa died peacefully on August 17, 2018 at the Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center. She was born May 21, 1921 to Joseph and Maria Medeiros in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband William K. Waialeale II, her second husband Arthur Schorzman and one son Curt A. Schorzman; six older brothers, Joseph, John, Lawrence, Gabriel, Bento and Augustine; one older sister Maria and one younger sister Juliet. They were all raised and baptized into the Catholic faith.

Dorothy is survived by two sons Alan 'Lani' Schorzman and his wife Mary of Marlin and William K. Sonny Waialeale III of Kauai, Hawaii; her grandchildren Brian Schorzman, Deanna Lobe, Lindsay and Ryan Brown, Troy Waialeale, Jade Battad, Dane Waialale and Cory Waialeale and her great grandchildren Lane Lobe, Kaedin Schorzman and Ryley Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy truly loved her family, the meticulous beauty of her yard, cooking, sewing, knitting, porcelain artwork, travels to every state, cruises and winters spent in Hawaii, Florida and California.

In her later years she practiced a deeper devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Graveside services will be held at the Odessa Cemetery on August 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dirk Jensen officiating. Memorials may be made to the Odessa Healthcare Foundation.
