INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note:Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Jan. 14: Responding to Vista Manor, Wilbur and Creston ambulance personnel assisted an elderly woman who may have suffered a stroke. The patient was taken to Coulee Community Hospital.

The wife of a Lincoln Hospital patient told dispatchers she received a scam call from someone who claimed to be associated with the hospital and asked for her Medicare information. She later learned that the hospital had not called.

Responding to a residence on Crescent Road, Reardan EMTs and Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 73-year-old man with possible stroke or heart problems. He was transported to a Spokane hospital.

Fearing he may be a victim of identity theft, a Davenport area man told dispatchers someone had opened a satellite radio account in his name, but without his permission.

A Sprague woman reported a man she didn’t know approached her on the porch of a residence in the 600 block of South Dayton Street, called her by name and asked about changing her satellite TV service.

A large pile of dead chickens was discovered in a ditch along Estate Road North near Sprague.

A Lincoln area caller expressed concern about someone in a green pickup truck appeared to be following his 11-year-old daughter home from school.

Tuesday, Jan. 15: Responding to the 600 block of East 2nd, Odessa ambulance personnel transported a 70-year-old man who had fallen to the local hospital.

County Public Works personnel planned to burn Russian thistle in the Wilbur, Creston and Almira areas.

A vehicle hit a rock wall and went into a ditch along Miles Creston Road near Hawk Creek Road, leaving the car damaged, but no injuries reported to its occupant.

Responding to the 1300 block of Jefferson Street in Davenport, a Harrington ambulance crew transported a 21-year-old woman who had a miscarriage to Lincoln Hospital.

Deputies responded to a “heated verbal argument” between a man and his wife in Sprague after the husband brought a girlfriend to the home he shares with his wife and their children.

A Creston property owner expressed concern about a possible meth lab in his neighborhood.

A Davenport man reported the theft of a .22 caliber pistol from a residence in the 700 block of Fifth Street.

A deputy kicked in a door to an apartment in the 40 block of Park Street in Davenport in order to assist a man in his 60s who had fallen, perhaps as a result of suffering a stroke. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital.

Lincoln Hospital personnel also provided help to a 76-year-old Davenport woman who had a possible stroke at a residence in the 300 block of Merriam Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 16: A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on U.S. 2 just east of Creston.

A caller told dispatchers his vehicle almost hit one of three horses loose on Hawk Creek Road.

While being booked into the county jail, a woman’s stash of methamphetamine was found by corrections deputies.

Deputies were preparing to respond to a holdup alarm at the Almira branch of the Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union when the alarm company sent a message to disregard it.

Residents of a section of Whispering Pines Drive East north of Reardan reported suspicious activity and requested that deputies check things out.

TV and sound equipment, along with a mini-wine fridge, were reported missing from a residence in the 400 block of SE College in Wilbur.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 174 on the Wilbur hill.

Pallets were taken from the HighLine Grain facility in Davenport. After learning from company personnel that they didn’t want the pallets returned, but that the offenders should be advised to ask first when they desired pallets for firewood, a deputy located his suspects – a couple of young boys who were caught on camera – and passed along the message.

Reardan EMTs, joined by Wellpinit ambulance personnel, responded to a one-vehicle rollover collision on SR 231 near Little Falls and Devils Gap roads.

Reardan Police responded to a report of malicious mischief in the 100 block of North Elm Street.

Thursday, Jan. 17: A deputy was checked out at Lincoln Hospital after he and his patrol vehicle were involved in a two-vehicle collision in the vicinity of Eighth and Maxwell streets in Davenport. Three other deputies, along with the sheriff, came to the scene where an airbag had deployed inside the patrol vehicle. Because a deputy was involved, the investigation was referred to the Washington State Patrol.

A 14-year-old Davenport boy was listed as a runaway after dispatchers took a call from his mother who said he was living with his girlfriend in Spokane and refused to come home.

As many as 500 loose beer cans from a pickup truck were scattered along U.S. 2 between Grand Coulee and Creston. Law enforcement directed the driver to the county Transfer Station to either offload the remaining cans or secure them before traveling further.

Safeway store personnel in Davenport observed a younger teenage girl loading bags she had brought inside with items that she left without paying for. She was last seen walking south on Twelfth Street.

A deputy gave a ride to Sprague to a man who said he’d been walking on SR 231 for about an hour after friends “ditched” him.

Friday, Jan. 18: Deputies began an investigation of a Jan. 13 collision involving a county Public Works vehicle on Hanson Harbor Road North.

A Davenport caller told dispatchers that a “very intoxicated” woman tried to walk into her house on Eleventh Street.

A man was booked into jail for giving a false name to deputies investigating a reported theft of a man’s wallet in the Almira area.

Saturday, Jan. 19: Additional equipment was needed to retrieve a vehicle that went down an embankment and ended up on a culvert along SR 25 near Reinbold Road north of Davenport.

Deputies intervened in a verbal dispute between a man and woman on Morgan Street near the Davenport Senior Center.

A deputy pulled over a vehicle in which the male driver was “dealing with kids and dogs in the back seat” and drifting across the roadway on U.S. 2 traveling west from Davenport.

Odessa Police investigated a harassment incident in the 10 block of East 5th Avenue.

Reardan Police were informed that an individual who suffered facial lacerations after being bitten by a dog was on the way from Reardan to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport

Sunday, Jan. 20: After a car went through a fence along SR 231 near Euclid Road, its female driver was taken to jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A Davenport woman asked dispatchers about how to properly install a child seat in her vehicle and when one should take a 1-year-old with a fever to the hospital. She was given Lincoln Hospital’s contact information and a web address to learn more about fevers.

A caller told dispatchers she was being chased by a blue car while traveling on Devils Gap Road north of Reardan.

Responding to the 900 block of Morgan Street, Davenport ambulance personnel transported a 73-year-old man who suffered a possible heart attack to Lincoln Hospital for initial treatment.

Dispatchers were advised of a verbal dispute in Harrington involving a married couple in the process of divorcing.

Monday, Jan. 21: Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a “non-responsive” 75-year-old woman at Vista Manor.

Responding to the 700 block of South Dayton, Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a 39-year-old woman with abdominal pain.

Someone stole two motors from a boat and trailer that its owner was forced to park and leave for three hours along SR 25 about eight miles north of Davenport when a tire blew. The motors had been secured by padlocks that were found cut.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North 7th in Almira after receiving a report that a man had beaten a dog and threatened to harm a woman. The man was cited for animal cruelty.

Odessa ambulance personnel were unable to revive a 64-year-old woman who suffered a possible diabetic seizure at a residence in the 500 block of South Alder Street.

A disabled 31-foot motor home briefly blocked the southbound lane of SR 231 in the canyon area north of Reardan.

A female inmate who fell in the shower and suffered an apparent seizure was transported from the county jail to Lincoln Hospital by Davenport ambulance personnel.

Alcohol was believed to be a factor in a verbal dispute between a man and his wife in the 100 block of North Maple Street in Reardan.

JAIL BOOKINGS

Jan. 16: John Michael Bowers, 23, Harrington, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for failing to comply with an out-of-county warrant.

Stormie Kalynn Cook, 37, Cheney, arrested by Reardan Police for driving while license suspended.

Jan. 18: Jonathon Jacob Anderson, 42, Grand Coulee, arrested by LCSO on an out-of-county misdemeanor warrant and for second-degree identity theft, making a false or misleading statement to a public servant, and driving while license suspended.

Jan. 20: Shayla Eileen Larsen, 39, Ford, arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.

From Jan. 14 to 20, nine other individuals were housed in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections. Another was held under contract with Stevens County.
