Criminal Sentencings

Randall Steven Douglas Carey, 34, of Sprague, pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to two counts of first-degree child molestation in connection with incidents on Oct. 18 and 26 of last year. With two sexual offender protection orders in place, he was sentenced to 89 months in prison, lifelong probation and must pay $600 court costs.

Bernard E. Mallory III, 47, Spokane, pleaded guilty Dec. 18 to first-degree robbery in connection with a Nov. 13, 2018, incident at the Reardan branch of US Bank. After being determined as competent to stand trial, he entered the plea and was recently sentenced to serve 66 months in prison and 18 months community custody, and pay $6,635 restitution to US Bank along with $500 in court costs. He also was ordered to take his prescribed medications.

Civil Judgments

K & S Hansen, Inc., doing business as Davenport Family Foods, must pay $45,420.97 in taxes owed from January through August of last year to the Washington State Department of Revenue.

Mark Bernard McCrea, of Davenport, must return $721.13 in overpaid disability benefits to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

Juvenile Offender Dispositions

Anthony M. Elder and Jeremiah P. Hicks, both 14 and of Odessa, pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to second-degree burglary and second-degree malicious mischief in connection with Sept. 14, 2018, incidents at the Odessa Golf Course and Crab Creek Coffee Haus. They both received 30 hours community service, 10 days detention and 10 months community supervision. They, along with a third co-defendant (if convicted), will share restitution of $2,738.08 to seven victims, to whom they must apologize as ordered by the court. They also are banned from the golf course and the Coffee Haus. The cases were resolved with prosecutors agreeing to withdraw one count of second-degree burglary, five counts of second-degree malicious mischief and one count of third-degree theft in exchange for their guilty pleas.

New Criminal Case

Natheena J. Nichols, 27, of Mead and/or Spokane, is charged with second-degree perjury for allegedly making a false statement to a Lincoln County deputy investigating a reported assault in Edwall on Oct. 22 of last year. According to the deputy’s report included in the charging documents filed with the court, she admitted that the accused assailant “didn’t actually harm me” and that she had made a false report.

New Civil Case

Leonard Thompson, of Davenport, claims negligence by US Bancorp (doing business as US Bank National Association) and DPB Enterprises in connection with a Jan. 16, 2016, fall on what he claims was an icy sidewalk near the Davenport branch’s ATM machine, from which he withdrew money at 9 p.m. that evening. According to his claim for unspecified damages “not exceeding $75,000,” he landed on his back, hit the back of his head and injured his right wrist. He “suffers continuous pain, discomfort, confusion and cognitive issues.”

Sarah Davis Hurley, East Wenatchee, speeding (17 over), contested, amended at prosecutor’s request to speeding (5 over), $125 penalty.

Timothy John Foia, Olympia, speeding (10 over), contested, amended at prosecutor’s request to expired vehicle tabs, $125 penalty.

Boris Minus, Glendale, Wis., following too close, contested, amended at prosecutor’s request to expired vehicle tabs, $110 penalty.

Jeremy Curtis Prosser, Spokane, driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, $250 court assessments, 12 months supervised probation.

Daryn Matthew Stewart, Spokane, speeding (10 over), contested, amended to expired vehicle license, $125 penalty.

Marlie Lyman Rose, Harrington, driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, $250 penalty, 12 months supervised probation.

Francesca Nichole M. Russell, Deer Park, second-degree driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, 2 days jail (credited as served), $250 penalty, 12 months supervised probation; second count dismissed at prosecutor’s request.

Deven James-Allen Hood, Deer Park, probation violation (driving while license suspended), 11 days jail (credited as served).

Mihail Placinta, Orlando, Fla., fail to dim lights to oncoming vehicle, contested, dismissed.

Owen Lee Rosman, Creston, use/possess loaded firearm in vehicle, dismissed at prosecutor’s request.

Stormie Kalynn Cook, Cheney, driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, 5 days jail (credited as served), 12 months unsupervised probation.

Rachel Lynn Velasquez, Moses Lake, speeding (17 over) and operating motor vehicle without insurance, contested, found committed, $346 penalty.
