Two wins, one loss start new season

Ashlyn Neilsen had a good game in the win over ACH in Coulee City December 17.

Varsity vs. Harrington

The Odessa varsity girls won their first basketball game of the season against Harrington on December 9 by a very lopsided 78-5 score.

The Tigers playing on the varsity squad this year are Ashlyn Neilsen a 5'7" freshman guard; Grace Nelson, also a 5'7" freshman guard; Kenadie Elder, a 5'4" senior guard; Caitlyn Schuh, a 5'5" senior playing post and guard positions; Maddie Scrupps, a 5'4" junior guard; Maddy Wagner, a 5'9" senior playing post and guard; Katreace Boss, a 5'3" junior guard; Laela Hardung, a 5'4" freshman post, guard; Tori Schlomer, a 5'8" sophomore at post; McKennah Davison, a 5'8" senior at guard, post; Hayden Schuh, a 5'8" eighth-grader playing up at post and guard and Kaytlyn Shafer, a 5'4" freshman guard.

Ashlyn Neilsen led the scoring with 20 points, followed closely by McKennah Davison with 18. Neilsen was selected as the Odessa player of the game.

On the defensive side, Maddy Wagner led the rebounding with a total of eight.

Three players led in steals with five each, Neilsen, Grace Nelson and Caitlyn Schuh.

The Harrington team has only eight girls on its roster, Cynthia Lee, a five-foot senior; Zöe Niccolls, a 5'6" freshman; Kaylen Behrens, a 5'2" sophmore; Nikolina Cvitic, a 5'7" junior; Lexy Crawford, a 5'6" junior; Allie Crawford, a 5'8" freshman; Izabelle Kramer, a 5'11" junior and Kaydence Brown, a 5'5" freshman.

Varsity vs. Wellpinit

The Tiger girls had a much rougher time with the team from Wellpinit, but it was a well fought contest. Following a big second quarter for Wellpinit, the Tigers were unable to bridge the gap by the final buzzer.

Davison had 17 points and Nelson 13 to pace the offense. Wagner led the rebounding with 10 and Nelson led in steals with five. Davison was also selected as the Odessa player of the game.

Varsity vs. ACH

The girls played ACH in Coulee City on Tuesday, December 17, winning this conference game, 48-25.

Nelson led the scoring with 15 points, while Hayden Schuh contributed nine.

Wagner again led the rebounding with nine, and Davison added six. Neilsen had four steals.

Nelson was selected as Odessa player of the game against ACH.
