Boys Odessa still undefeated, ranked #1

Odessa vs. Columbia

On Tuesday, January 21, the Tigers hosted the Columbia High Lions from Hunters, coming away with a very lopsided 87-28 win.

Odessa's 6'3" junior Tim DeWulf made his season debut in this game after missing the first half of the season and all of this year's football season as well due to injury. He scored 9 points and led the team in rebounding with 8, proving that he was back in form.

Ryan Moffet scored 30 points to lead the offense, while Jett Nelson and Daeton Deife added 10 points each.

Nearly every team member scored.

Defensively, Deife led the team in steals with 6, and Eric Johnston had two blocked shots, while Jacob Scrupps and DeWulf added one each.

Odessa vs. ACH

On January 24 the Tigers laid in wait for their prey, the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors. They went straight for the throat, overcoming their long-time nemesis, 72 to 45.

Moffet "the Machine" was definitely on his game, leading the Tigers with 37 points. He was followed by Maxpreps player of the game, Marcus King, with 16, Jett Nelson with 8, Jaden Hunt with 6 and Camden Weber with 5.

The Warriors didn't have much of a shot against this outstanding 2020 Tiger team. Most of these boys have grown up together and have been playing sports together since they were of pre-school age. They are not just a team but a family, able to communicate without words, working together like the gears in a clock.

All together, the Tigers had 32 rebounds, 20 assists and 8 steals in the game.

Odessa vs. Republic

On January 25 the Tigers invited the Republic Tigers to town to see who was the fiercest cat. There was no question about it, as the OHS Tigers slaughtered the Republic Tigers, 88 to 23.

Leading the Tigers in points was, once again, Ryan "the Machine" Moffet with a total of 31. DeWulf had 14 points, while Weber, the Maxprep player of the game, was next with 13. King scored 11, Nelson 10, Scrupps 7 and Hunt 2.

As usual, Tiger teamwork was outstanding. They had a total of 40 rebounds, 24 assists and 21 steals in the game, making them one of the toughest teams in the district.
