Lights going up for Christmas

ODESSA – A group of volunteers assisted the Old Town Hall Rejuvenation Society with putting lights on the large evergreen tree on its property. A crew under the direction of Marlene Kramer, current president of the Society, put the lights onto the tree last week on a sunny but cold day.

The lighting of the tree will take place Sunday, November 29, at 5:30 p.m. outside the Old Town Hall.

Holiday lighting has also begun appearing in other locations around town. Some residents have already been busy decorating homes and yards. In the downtown business district, LocalTel has put festive lighting on the exterior of its offices. At last week's Chamber of Commerce meeting, officers encouraged business owners/operators to "light up the town" in hopes of dissipating some of the doom and gloom associated with the latest Covid-related news.
