Jeffrey Dean Knutson (54) moved onto his next adventure in Heaven on December 5, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born to Timothy and Marla Knutson on March 28, 1966, in Kenmare, ND. In his younger years in Spokane, WA, Jeff played hard with his three brothers and loved spending summers on the family farm in ND. He attended Northwest Christian School and made lifelong friends there. Jeff joined the United States Marine Corps in 1986 and served his country with pride, honor and true grit. His Marine Corps family remember him always having a smile, working and playing hard, a man of conviction and integrity, a competitive athlete and a great friend. Semper Fi!

Jeff met Linda in 1994, and knew quickly she was THE ONE for him. They were blessed with 25 years of marriage as they chased dreams in many places, from homesteading in Alaska to the beaches of Moloka'i, HI, to the wheat fields of Washington. Along the way, God brought an amazing gift into their lives and son, Gunnar Bruce (named in honor of Col. H. Bruce Ferguson) made his dad so proud. Jeff was an amazing dad!

He completed his education at WSU and worked as a Soil Conservationist for USDA, NRCS and will be missed greatly by his work family.

Jeff was wild at heart and craved adventure! He was a pilot, bull rider, and marathon runner, builder of cars, trucks, and houses. He enjoyed competitive rifle shooting, drag racing (with Linda screaming in the seat next to him) and demolition derbies. He found the biggest car he could, because "go big or go home," painted it JD green and yellow and blasted the song "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" while ramming other cars! He was a child of God and served others by using his many fix-anything skills. He loved the peacefulness of nature and spent hours on his "ranch."

Jeff was welcomed to Heaven by Jesus Christ his Savior, as well as his mom Marla, dad Tim, stepdad Norman, brother Shawn, mother-in-law Darlene, Col. Ferguson and so many more.

Jeff is survived by Linda and Gunnar, brothers Kelly (Jennifer) and Jason (Lori), and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to a veteran's organization. A service honoring Jeff will be held at a later date.

State funeral Home, Davenport is caring for the Knutson Family.
