School board hears results of student survey

Majority of students prefer quarter system

DAVENPORT – To adjust for strange schedules caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the middle and high school here have been utilizing a quarter system, as opposed to a regular, seven-period day. A recent survey conducted among students indicated that a majority prefer a possible future quarter system where there are just three to four classes taken at a time split throughout the year, principal Chad Prewitt shared with the school board at the board’s April 26 meeting.

Only seventh-graders favored a normal, seven-period return to normal as a majority amongst their grade. Seniors were split 5...
