Miss Harrington crowned

HARRINGTON – Miss Harrington Lexy Crawford crowned her successor Caroline Slack during the Harrington Car Show on Saturday, May 15. Lexy is the daughter of Janese and Troy Crawford. She was crowned last summer in a socially distanced outdoor ceremony with a few Harrington Homemakers and the Crawford family present. Her coronation was celebrated with a parade of cars through Harrington streets. Ms. Crawford’s reign was overshadowed by the pandemic but she served as a positive local ambassador, participating in the Panther Reads online reading program and attending local activities as restrictions allowed.

Caroline is the daughter of Justin and Heather Slack. She was crowned in front of the historic Harrington Opera House among the 200 classic cars lining Harrington streets. Caroline’s reign began immediately as she and Lexy enthusiastically shared ambassador duties for the day, happily representing their hometown among the many visitors and locals.

Ms. Slack continues a family tradition of serving her community in a royal role. Aunts Marilyn Talkington Smaljohn, Kathi Meyer Thompson and Nancy Richardson Hoffman all served as Miss Harrington. Cousin Amy Knapp Rosson served as a Harrington princess.

Miss Harrington is a project of the Harrington Homemakers.
