Reardan volleyball tops Tekoa-Rosalia, falls to Asotin

ROSALIA-The Reardan volleyball varsity girls notched their second straight win Thursday, Sept. 16 over the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves in a nonleague matchup in three straight sets.

Reardan won the first set 25-13, the second set 25-14 and the third set 25-12 in its convincing victory to improve to 3-1 and 0-1 in 2B play. Junior Coalie Whitman had eight assists and four aces for Reardan in the win, while senior Kendall Little had five kills and five blocks.

The second league match of the season was a loss for Reardan, however, as the undefeated Asotin Panthers won in four sets Tuesday, Sept. 21. Reardan won the first set 25-23, but Asotin blitzed the next three sets 25-13, 25-22 and 25-22.

Senior Ella Curry had six kills and seven blocks for Reardan in the loss. Reardan fell to 0-2 in league play with the loss and is 3-2 overall.

Reardan will next head to Quincy for a tournament Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. The next league match is against Chewelah at home Tuesday, Sept. 28.
