Tigers rout Liberty Christian

ODESSA – For Homecoming on Oct. 1 at Finney Field, the Tiger football team was scheduled to face Northport. However, Northport was unable to field enough players and had to cancel. Odessa's Athletic Director Bruce Todd immediately got on the phone to find another team willing to face the Tigers on short notice. He found that team in the Liberty Christian Patriots of Richland.

Although the Tigers clearly dominated, the Patriots were nevertheless able to score against them in every quarter.

Starkel led the team in tackles with nine, including seven solo tackles. McMillan was right behind with eight tackles, also including seven solo tackles. Four Tigers combined to sack the Patriot's quarterback five times, Drew Hardung, Tucker Walter, Deife and Zane McMillan. Martin also pulled in an interception and ran for several yards before being brought down.
