Davenport volleyball holds off Kettle Falls on Senior Night

Reardan gets win against St. George's

DAVENPORT--The Gorillas needed a win to stay alive in the race for NE2B districts, and they managed to get that win against the Kettle Falls Bulldogs on Senior Night 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12). Davenport improved to 3-11 with the win.

Kettle Falls came out swinging, taking the first set 25-18. However, Davenport battled back to win two straight sets, both by scores of 25-19. Then, Kettle Falls evened the match 25-17 in the fourth set.

The fifth set was a back-and-forth affair. Kettle Falls scored the first four points of the set, but Davenport scored four straight of its own. The set was tied 10-10, but Davenport scored five of the next seven points to get the victory.


Senior Kylee Buchanan led Davenport with 20 kills and three digs. Sophomore Koda Coffman added 17 assists, two kills and two digs, while senior Hailey Nonnemacher-Stiles had six blocks and four kills.

Davenport has one more match in the regular season, a road trip to Colbert to take on Northwest Christian Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Reardan picks up win at St. George's

The Reardan girls were also victorious Thursday night, picking up a sweep at St. George's 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20). Junior Coalie Whitman had 15 assists, six aces and six kills, while junior Emma Flaa had 12 assists and nine kills for the visitors.


Reardan improved to 5-5 in league play and 8-5 overall. It hosts Senior Night Tuesday, Oct. 26 against undefeated Colfax at 6:30 p.m.
