Wagner has last school board meeting

Vice chair will be replaced by Clouse, who runs unopposed

REARDAN-Ian Wagner, a farmer with three children in the school district, has wrapped up his time with the Reardan-Edwall School District after five years on the board. He was recognized at his last board meeting Oct. 27.

Wagner had been on the board since 2016. He had served just over two two-year terms and went through the election process twice.

"It's just time," Wagner said of his decision to leave the board. "Five years is plenty. It's time for some new ideas and a change for me."

"When you have kids in the school district you have a dog in the fight," he added. "But you also have to keep an open mind."

Wagner has three boys that attend Reardan Elementary. His wife, Rychelle Wagner, is the district HR payroll manager.

"I'm extremely proud of where Reardan is right now," Wagner said. "We're strong financially, and we've put in some programs that I hope will stand the test of time. I wish I could've stuck around to see us fix the tennis courts and re-do the track, but time, money and resources are limited, and we'll have to be patient."

Wagner will stay busy farming the family's land south and east of town while raising cattle and hogs. Ryan Clouse ran unopposed for his District No. 5 seat on the board and will take his place at the first meeting this month, scheduled for Nov. 10.
