Davenport city council passes four items

Hansen informs city of resignation

DAVENPORT—City council used its meeting the day before Thanksgiving to pass three resolutions and approve a first reading of an ordinance to re-zone 100 Morgan Street, where a Family Dollar will eventually be constructed, Wednesday, Nov. 24.

Councilmember Nathan Hansen was absent but informed the city prior to the meeting that he’ll be resigning from council because he’s moving outside city limits.

Traditionally, the city advertises any vacant council positions before holding open interviews with any prospective candidates. Hansen’s term runs through 2023.
