Odessa Lions mark 80 years of service

ODESSA – With the Nov. 20, 2021 Turkey Carnival in the community center, the Odessa Lions Club celebrated 80 years of service to the Town of Odessa. At 2 p.m., the kitchen opened and so did bingo for turkeys. Toward evening, once all of the turkeys had been awarded, the raffle drawing began. Odessa businesses and individuals were very generous in donating 54 items for the raffle, including gift certificates to local businesses, free merchandise, gift baskets, cash and more.

Proceeds from the purchase of raffle tickets and bingo cards are used for improvements to Reiman Park, for youth activities, for the Lions Club playground at the park, improvements to Fest Platz, upkeep of the outdoor community stage, sight conservation, cemetery improvements and tourist park updates.

The luck of the draw produced several individuals who won more than one prize (and endured plenty of razzing from the other patrons).
