Gorillas control last quarter for upset win

DAVENPORT-The "Golden Plunger" was won by Davenport over Reardan in last week's Winterfest competition, and that Gorilla success translated onto the basketball court. Davenport's girls basketball team surprised Reardan with a gritty, oft-ugly 38-33 comeback victory Saturday, Dec. 11.
Davenport didn't score for the first half of the first quarter as Reardan built a slim 5-0 lead. Reardan senior Ella Curry then banked in a jump shot at the quarter horn to give the visitors an 11-6 lead after one.
