Reardan hoops earn wins over Chewelah

Girls get convincing dub while boys hold on for victory

REARDAN-For the second time in two weeks, both the girls and boys Reardan varsity basketball games were victorious over the Chewelah Cougars. The girls won their game handily 55-28, while the boys held on for a 68-61 win Tuesday, Jan. 4.

The wins came 13 days after both teams beat Chewelah on the road Dec. 22.

The girls came out guns blazing, using tough defense to take a 17-0 lead after one quarter. Chewelah fought tougher in the second quarter, but Reardan still led 30-10 at halftime.

Reardan then outscored Chewelah 15-6 in the third quarter to take a 45-16 lead. Chewelah won the final...
