Paul Reuben Sarkkinen, 67, was born on Nov. 3rd, 1954 to Wilfred and Doris Sarkkinen in Minneapolis, Minn. He passed away in Spokane, Wash. on Jan. 20th, 2022.

He was raised in Bloomington, Minn. and then moved with his parents to Battle Ground, Wash. where he graduated from High School. In 1984 he married Rebecca Ellen Foley and they were blessed with three daughters. His hardworking life in the construction industry was focused mainly in Spokane, Wash., Billings, Mont. and Minneapolis, Minn.

He enjoyed being with his daughters and their families, visiting his siblings and friends, where his uplifting, humorous and loving nature will be missed. His biggest joy in life was being a grandpa and going on many adventures.

Paul was described as one of a kind. His passing was precious, where lastly surrounded by his daughters and shortly before with his siblings, his firm faith in the living Christianity was felt and witnessed by those present. He was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Paul is survived by his 3 daughters Shana (Adam) Stenberg of Albertville, Minn., Amber (Nick) Kehl of St. Michael, Minn., Angela (Tanner) Fromm of Watertown, S.D., 8 grandchildren, Victoria, Jada, RaeLeigh, Sawyer, Kysa, Berlynn, Elna and Kinsley. Siblings Joe (Sharon), Dick (Nancy) of Battle Ground, Wash., Douglas (Helen) of La Center, Wash., Robert, James (Brenda) and Bonnie (Jeff) Lipka, of Yacolt, Wash., William ( Denise), of Big Lake, Ala. Donald (Michelle) of Woodland, Wash., Marietta (Kern) Kostenko of Kennewick, Wash., Gail (Matt) Waatti of Lakeside, Mont. and Timothy (Anita) of Big Fork, Mont. and a host of precious Christian brothers and sisters in faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca in 2001, parents Wilfred and Doris Sarkkinen and nephew Nathan Sarkkinen.

Services were at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Davenport, Wash. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 with burial at the church cemetery.
