Davenport High School principal Chad Prewitt was the (un)lucky winner of an FBLA fundraiser selecting a school staff member to kiss a "pig" during halftime of the Feb. 5 girls basketball game. The planned swine had ballooned to an unusable weight by Saturday, forcing a goat substitution. Prewitt was selected after he was the member chosen through tickets purchased by the community over a month-and-a-half period, with all proceeds going to Lincoln County Care and Share.

After a month and a half of preparation, the "Kiss the Pig" event finally came to fruition on February 5th. The Davenport FBLA Partnership with Business co-chairs, Jesse Raugust, Emma Cormier, and Lexi Cormier put in countless hours preparing for the "Kiss the Pig" event.. At the beginning of the partnership with Care and Share, the co-chairs' goal was to raise $1,500 for their business and the additional costs that would be incurred when they moved locations. The 1st and 2nd place staff finishers combined to raise $1,450. The final fundraising total was $2,321.
