Newspaper merger takes effect Tuesday

This is the final week that the printing press at Free Press Publishing will be printing The Davenport Times and The Odessa Record separately. Next week is the first week of the two newspapers merging to create The Lincoln County Record-Times.
DAVENPORT-This is the last week that the east Lincoln County newspaper will be known as The Davenport Times, but the product for local readers will only be increased in quantity and quality. The Times' merger with The Odessa Record will become effective Tuesday, March 1 and be reflected in the March 3 issue under its new name, The Lincoln County Record-Times.
Readers of The Times can use the coupon at the bottom of this page to get a special two-year subscription to The Record-Times. Subscription rates will be increased for readers of The Times to $40, which is a dollar less than what read...
